Rapido Food Delivery Charges Slashed by 50% to Compete with Zomato and Swiggy

Rapido, best known for its ride-hailing services, is making a bold move into the food delivery space—and it’s doing so with a major advantage for restaurants. The company has finalized new partnership terms with restaurants, offering commission rates that are nearly half of what established players like Zomato and Swiggy charge.

According to people familiar with the developments, Rapido has teamed up with the National Restaurants Association of India (NRAI) to set its commission rates between 8% and 15%. In comparison, Zomato and Swiggy typically charge restaurants anywhere from 16% to 30% per order. This significant difference could be a game-changer for many eateries looking to boost their margins.

Here’s how the new fee structure works:

  • For orders below ₹400, Rapido will charge a flat fee of ₹25.
  • For orders above ₹400, the fee is ₹50.
  • These fixed fees translate to the lower 8-15% commission range, depending on the order value.

For consumers, this means you’ll soon be able to browse and order from your favorite local restaurants directly through the Rapido app. With lower commissions, restaurants may be able to offer better prices or improved service, making Rapido an appealing new option in the food delivery market.

By slashing its food delivery charges, Rapido is directly challenging the long-standing duopoly of Zomato and Swiggy, aiming to attract both restaurants and customers with its competitive pricing.
