SaaS-based food commerce platform FarMart has announced a strategic partnership with Aerem, a leading rooftop solar provider for MSMEs, to address a long-standing challenge in India’s agri-food supply chain: ensuring access to reliable and cost-efficient energy for food processing. This collaboration is set to significantly enhance the agri-food supply chain by integrating clean energy solutions at critical points of food processing and distribution.

The partnership will embed Aerem’s clean energy technology into FarMart’s expansive network of food processors and aggregators, directly benefiting the agri-food supply chain by reducing energy costs, improving uptime, and enabling sustainable scaling. By focusing on the agri-food supply chain, both companies aim to drive efficiency and transparency across sourcing, aggregation, and distribution of agricultural produce.

FarMart operates a decentralized, tech-enabled platform that digitizes the agri-food supply chain, connecting over 3.8 million farmers, more than 1,500 processors, and 4,000+ food businesses across India, the Middle East, and Africa. This digital transformation of the agri-food supply chain ensures a more efficient and transparent movement of goods from farm to market.

Aerem complements this effort by providing a full-stack rooftop solar ecosystem tailored for MSMEs in the agri-food supply chain. Their platform combines a digital interface, an RBI-licensed NBFC, and a B2B marketplace of verified OEMs, EPCs, and distributors, making solar adoption seamless, affordable, and scalable for all stakeholders in the agri-food supply chain.

Anand Jain, Founder & CEO of Aerem, emphasized, “Our partnership with FarMart Solaris is a powerful step towards accelerating solar adoption in India’s food processing sector. Our shared goal is to make clean energy accessible, helping processors in the agri-food supply chain cut costs, reduce emissions, and build resilient businesses for the future.”

Alekh Sanghera, Co-founder & CEO of FarMart, added, “Reliable energy has become foundational infrastructure for the agri-food supply chain. We’re excited to collaborate with Aerem to help our partners transition to clean energy and build a future-ready agri-food supply chain.”

Anjali Bansal, Founding Partner of Avaana Capital, commented, “We’re delighted to see two Avaana portfolio companies—FarMart and Aerem—come together in a partnership that brings transformative value at the intersection of energy and food systems. Together, they are powering the agri-food supply chain with clean energy, strengthening resilience, unlocking productivity, and creating systems-level change. Congratulations to both teams—this is exactly the kind of collaboration that will shape a Viksit Bharat.”
