OYO Announces Worldwide Naming Contest for Parent Company as IPO Approaches

OYO’s founder, Ritesh Agarwal, has kicked off an exciting global naming contest to rebrand its parent company, Oravel Stays, as the hospitality giant prepares for its upcoming IPO. In a bid to create a fresh identity, OYO is inviting people from around the world to suggest a unique, one-word name that is universal, modern, and easy to remember. The ideal name should also have a “.com” domain available.
The winner of this global naming contest will receive a cash prize of ₹3 lakh and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Ritesh Agarwal himself. This creative initiative is part of OYO’s broader strategy to strengthen its brand presence ahead of its planned IPO and the launch of a new standalone app focused on premium and mid-range serviced hotel offerings worldwide.
On the financial side, OYO has reported strong performance, posting a profit after tax of ₹623 crore in FY 2024–25. The company has also achieved 10 consecutive profitable quarters on the EBITDA front, reaching ₹1,132 crore. As OYO works closely with investment banks, it is targeting a public listing by the fourth quarter of FY25.
